Lane's diverse output ranges from straight-up rock and roll to twangy ballads to Hawaiian-influenced exotica and surf music.

In addition to playing solo, in duos and sitting in with various friends, Lane regularly fronts his own band, the Badass Chickenbones, and plays bass behind tiki-carving frontman Crazy Al in the exotica band Ape.
